Fixing “File too large” and “Unsupported file type” errors

What each error message means and how to fix it.

Last updated:

  • Unsupported file type — the file’s real format (read from its content, not its name) is not supported. Convert it to a supported format.
  • File too large — the file exceeds the current limit. See the limits below.
  • The file contains insufficient information — for example a text below the minimum length for statistical analysis, or an audio file that is almost silent.
  • Analysis temporarily unavailable — a server error occurred; please try again in a few minutes.
  • Your browser could not decode this file — try another browser (Chrome or Edge decode the most formats).
